PREFER BLUE HYDRAGENEAS?
Years ago, gardeners would hammer a rusty iron nail into the root ball of a hydrangea to reach the deepest most beautiful blue colors. Today, we recommend a 1/2 c of Aluminum Sulfate per established plant to reach true blue blossoms.

OR PINK, OR WHITE?
If you prefer pink flowers you can just add Hydrated Lime or Dolomite. And shocking white is attained with 1/2 c of Magnesium Sulfate or Epson Salts.

May Day Baskets!

May Day ~ May 1st

Gathering flowers and branches has long been a tradition and "bringing in the May" is a popular activity on May 1. Today baskets are often filled with flowers and then placed on people's doorsteps or tied to the door handle, as they ring the doorbell and dash away before they are caught. You can keep the May Day spirit alive yourself by making a special May Day basket or using any small basket to fill with flowers to give to a friend.

Delightful and fun, you can purchase small pots of flowers at Palmers to fill your baskets this year! Tie a bow or ribbon streamers onto the handle if you wish to fasten it to the door handle of a friend. These are great to place on a desk and cheer up the work place as well.
